The Georgian Court University Alumni Association has collected nominations for and from alumni who are interested in joining the Alumni Board of Directors (ABoD) for the new term beginning July 1, 2021. Below you will find a brief bio of all of the candidates. After reading through each bio you can submit your vote on the form below. You may select one or all candidates listed when voting.

Thomas A. DiPaolo ‘12

Thomas A. DiPaolo graduated from Georgian Court University in 2012 with a BA in Education. He transferred to GCU from Brookdale Community College, commuted while working full time and was the trip committee chair for the History Club.

Currently, Tom is as a middle school special education teacher with the Jersey City board of education and is involved in the school’s Technology PLC, Special Education PLC, and Intervention & Referral Services Committee. Most recently, he has planned and presented workshops to his peers about websites and online programs that enhance student learning and engagement. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Tom has taken on a new role as his school’s Technology on Call Teacher assisting students and staff with technology issues they encountered.

For the past 8 summers, Tom has worked as site director for over 500 students in kindergarten through 5th grade at the Howell Recreation Summer Camp. He has completed 6 half marathons and lives in Brick, NJ with his wife and dog.

MaryAnne Donahue '90, '97

MaryAnne Donahue graduated from Georgian Court in 1990 with an MA in Education and 1994 with an MA in Educational Administration. She received her undergrad from Rowan University and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

MaryAnne has been a member of the Alumni Board of Directors since 2017 and is looking to serve an additional term. MaryAnne has an interest in seeing Georgian Court continue to grow and develop and wants to assist in pushing forward the strategic compass.

Marianne Holler '81

Dr. Marianne Holler graduated from Georgian Court University in 1981 with a degree in Sociology and Social Work. She continued her education by receiving a master’s degree from Fordham University and her doctorate from UMDNJ. Marianne is board certified in internal medicine, Hospice and palliative medicine.

In 2003 Marianne helped organize and participated in the Georgian Court mission trip to Honduras. She has also served on the Alumni Board of Directors since 2017 and is looking forward to serving another term.

Marianne received the Judith Stanley Coleman Award from VNA Health Group in 2020 and was also nominated as the AAHPM Hospice Physician of the Year. She is a highly decorated physician and has a special interest in LGBTQ+ issues and end of life care.

Beverly Milyo '69, '83

Beverly Milyo graduated from Georgian Court University in 1969 and 1983 with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mathematics. She has been giving back to her alma mater ever since graduation and served as president of both the Middlesex and Ocean County alumni chapters as well as the Georgian Court Alumni Association.

Most recently, she worked tirelessly with her classmates to establish an endowment of the class of 1969 Sister Mary Catherine Sullivan Endowed Scholarship and has been the recipient of both the Georgian Court Alumni Service Award and Lion Lifetime Achievement Award.

Beverly spent 32 years teaching mathematics at Jackson Memorial High School and retired in 2001. Since her retirement, she was a CCD instructor at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church in South River where she also serves as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist and Lector.

Mary Pierce '06

Mary Pierce graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgian Court University in 2006 with a BA in Mathematics and continued her education at Rutgers University where she received an MA in Mathematics Education. While at GCU, Mary was a math tutor, president of the math club, and a member of the math honor society – Pi Mu Epsilon.

A nontraditional student, Mary left her job in finance to pursue a degree in math and education and embark on a new career path. Since then, Mary has been teaching math ever since, and was even named 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year at Point Pleasant Beach High School.

A lifelong learner, Mary is brushing up on her French while also learning Portuguese. She loves to garden and is also currently studying Taekwondo and is a blue-red stripe all while raising her 9-year-old twins.

Constance Anne Reymann '77, '00

Constance Anne Reymann is a retired educator with 30+ years of experience in both the private and public sectors. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Art Education in 1977 and master’s degree in Education Administration in 2000, both from Georgian Court. Connie’s community activity has kept her involved in the Georgian Court Alumni Board of Directors since 2012, Phi Delta Kappa Stockton Chapter since 2002, and Weymouth Township Board of Education since 2016.

She received the prestigious Phi Delta Kappa Service Key Award in 2012, and has poetry published in The National Library of Poetry. Connie has received awards from The Lions’ Club, and nominations for The Disney Teacher of the Year Award, and the Who’s Who among Students in Americans Universities and Colleges.

Her service of Mercy began as a student serving on the Student Government Association at Georgian Court and continued as an Alumni association volunteer for many years during reunions and other student events. Connie served as the Professional Development Chair from 2015-2017 and believes that the Mercy core values are what makes her who she is.

Connie’s talents in the arts are far ranging from various educational certificates to the fine arts and music. She has participated in The Masterworks Choir and Orchestra, St. Joe’s Choir, The Court Singers and The Court Notes. Additionally, her work in Youth Ministry took her on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Alicia Somers '95

Alicia Somers graduated from Georgian Court University with a BA in Special Education and continued her education at Monmouth University receiving a master’s degree in Education. Alicia has been teaching for over 20 years and received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2008 and 2018 from Spotswood School District.

A current member of the Alumni Board looking to serve an additional term, Alicia is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolutionary War, president of the New Jersey Schoolwoman’s Club, and Spotswood Education Foundation Liaison.

While at Georgian Court, Alicia served as president of the Student Government Association. This work led her to join the Alumni Board of Directors and she looks forward to continuing serving her alma mater.

Jamey Brooks Stofko '00, '15

Jamey Brooks Stofko graduated from Georgian Court University with an MA in Special Education in 2000 and an MA in Holistic Health in 2015. Since graduating, Jamey has stayed involved as a member of the Alumni Board of Directors. She consistently volunteers at onsite events including Reunion and Homecoming weekend and is a staple in the Holistic Health Department as a volunteer yoga teacher for countless events including the Stress Less event and Holistic Health Fair.

Jamey has over 30 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist and incorporates yoga, wellness coaching and Reiki as complimentary wellness practices. She looks forward to continuing as an active member of the board and using her knowledge to assist the expanding programs of nursing and holistic health on campus.

Casey Stoya '19

Casey Stoya graduated from Georgian Court University in 2019 with a BS in Natural Sciences. While at GCU, Casey was a member of Sigma Zeta math and science honor society, and Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society on the basis of academics and scholarship.

Since graduation, Casey obtained a membership in the American Chemical Society and currently works at Medtronic’s tissue bank in Eatontown using donor tissue to analyze products made to alleviate pain and improve quality of life.

Casey is looking forward to the opportunity to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors and volunteer with those students or other alumni seeking laboratory careers and aiding in proper documentation as needed.

Shelley Wasilewski '73, '95

Shelley Wasilewski graduated Georgian Court University in 1973 with a BA in Secondary Education and again in 1995 with an MA in Supervision, Curriculum, and Management. She also received her Guidance Counselor certificate in 2007.

Shelley has been an active member of the Alumni Association since 1997 and was employed as the Georgian Court Alumni Director from 1990-1997. As a retired teacher and guidance counselor, Shelley enjoys using her free time to stay connected to her alma mater and volunteer her time on campus.

In her free time, Shelley enjoys reading, writing, Biblical research, traveling, baking, and crafting.
