Yet, they report that they learn about game titles and facilitation techniques through their own initiatives or from other teachers rather than from their teacher preparation program or professional development. This workshop will present numerous board and digital game titles at all grades and content areas and offer ideas for game facilitation. Play on! (Credit: 1.5) Presenter: Nancy B. Sardone, Ph.D.

Description: Social workers have the privilege of working with people of diverse backgrounds, and are committed to meeting the holistic needs of the individuals they serve. However, far too often in contemporary social work practice the role faith and spirituality have on personal development is overlooked. During this interactive workshop theories of faith development will be reviewed and the dynamics of interpersonal “meaning-making” will be discussed. Participants will develop techniques to assist in exploring their client’s personal belief systems in order to become a more effective and culturally competent practitioner.
