Timothy Knipper '08 received a national award for volunteer efforts with Boys & Girls Clubs. Mr. Knipper was named one of 12 winners of the Maytag Dependable Leader Award. The honor includes a $20,000 financial grant for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County to provide educational scholarships to club members.

Lu-Ann Russell '98 was promoted to senior director of Conference Services and Special Events at Monmouth University. Previously, she had been the director of Conference and Events Services. The office which she now oversees is a result of a merger of her former office with the special events office.

Class Notes Samantha R. Lombardi 3/23/2015  
Samantha Lombardi '14 is a Teach for America 2014 Corps member. She was sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to teach 2nd grade at Academy Central Elementary School, which she did until February 2015. When both 4th-grade teachers left, Samantha was asked to take over both classes, so she taught all of the 4th-graders at the school.

Gertrude Turner Mahon '35 and her family are doing well. Daughter, Betsy, lives at home, while her twin, Billy and his wife, Trish, live in Aberystwyth, Wales. Their children are both at school - Eoin at Cambridge studying linguistics and Aoife at Bristol University studying French and German. Son, David, and his wife, Gina, live nearby Gertrude. They have four children: Sarahfaye teaches biology at Paramus Catholic High School; Timothy is a lieutenant at the FDNY; Emily spent 2014 in Japan teaching English; and Hilary lives in Maryland and works for the National Institute of Health.

Mary Cranwell '82, '97, GCU director of conferences and special events, received the Jack Thornton Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors - International (ACCED-I) at their annual international conference March 2015. The award recognizes an individual for distinguished service, devotion, and dedication to the collegiate conferencing profession and to ACCED-I. The recipient exhibits strong leadership, visionary and mentor qualities; possess strong professional ethics and principles; and contributes in positive ways to furthering the goals and objectives of ACCED-I.

Class Notes Tanya Dinova 1/21/2015  
Tanya Dinova '08 studied model community-based efforts to preserve Bornean species along the Kinabatangan River in Sabah (East Malaysia), during the summer of 2014, on the island of Borneo. Tanya, a Park Naturalist at Monmouth County Park System in Tinton Falls, N.J., took the graduate course in pursuit of her master's degree from Miami University's Global Field Program.
Class Notes Maureen E. O'Rourke-Hemhauser 3/13/2015  
Maureen O'Rourke-Hemhauser '90 has joined Peapack-Gladstone Bank as a Senior Vice-President, Chief Compliance Officer effective February 23, 2015. Ms. Hemhauser is responsible for overseeing the Bank's Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Anti-Money Laundering programs. Maureen has worked in the financial services industry for 25 years, most recently at FIS Global as Senior Compliance Manager for established and de novo financial institutions throughout New Jersey and New York. Ms. Hemhauser earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from GCU. She has been an active member at Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church where she has taught religious education for over ten years.

Adam Silversmith '14 and his wife, Sheri Silversmith '12 have two children - Kyle and Kelly. Adam is the division manager for Toms River Youth Services, as well as the CEO of Advanced Behavior Consulting, L.L.C. Sheri is the program administrator for the Township of Jackson Senior Services Center
