A History of Success

Georgian Court University offers a life-affirming, affordable, private, comprehensive liberal arts education, in the Catholic Mercy tradition. GCU, located on a serenely beautiful, historic campus, puts the Mercy values of justice, integrity, respect, compassion, and service to work in the classroom and the community so that our graduates will continue their service to those in need through their chosen professions.

Georgian Court prides itself in offering a world-class education for all students while meeting their financial needs. Indeed, GCU is proud that 41% of students are the first in their families to seek a college degree – and proud to assist the 46% of students who receive Pell Grants. We provide opportunities for them to pursue a college degree, and our student support is unsurpassed. An aggressive retention plan, focused and intense advising, and our faculty’s commitment to academic performance contribute to our success.

Georgian Court University provides students with:

  • a curriculum broad enough to be truly liberal, yet specialized enough to support further study and future careers;
  • an environment for the entire university community to grow through shared educational, cultural, social, and spiritual experiences; and
  • the will to translate concern for social justice into action.

Lion's Fund - Greatest Needs

Unrestricted giving to GCU's Lion's Fund helps the university address the greatest needs in the moment.  Your unrestricted gift may provide a scholarship, support the work of our academic programs, offer students opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities, help the library acquire new material, allow the university to purchase cutting-edge technology, establish new initiatives, or help maintain our historic buildings and grounds. While all gifts offer important support for the university's mission, unrestricted donations are especially helpful.

Scholarships

Georgian Court University awards more than one million dollars in donor funded scholarships per year, helping hundreds of students fund their dreams of going to college. Often, donor funded scholarship support helps students stay on track to graduate.  Your gift can support an existing scholarships, create a new annual scholarship, or establish an endowment to ensure your scholarship is awarded in perpetuity.  Donors supporting student scholarships are recognized annually in the fall at our annual Scholarship Brunch.

Athletics

The Georgian Court University intercollegiate athletics program seeks to develop men and women of integrity and character who exhibit a passion for excellence and who are ethical leaders among their peers and in their communities.

Our successful NCAA Division II programs – women's and men's basketball, women's and men's cross country, women's and men's lacrosse, women's and men's soccer, softball, women's and men's indoor and outdoor track and field, and volleyball  have a history of excellence that serves as motivation for each season. GCU Athletics is committed to providing winning opportunities for our student-athletes that match our academic achievements. We all know, however, that athletes cannot succeed on their own. They need a team of people to help them become the best they can be. To stay up to date with GCU Athletics visit www.gculions.com.
