Become a Volunteer
Be powerful. Make a difference. Get involved. Give back. Volunteer!
Help shape the lives of Georgian Court University students and alumni by becoming a volunteer. Volunteers develop valuable contacts, gain new skills and meet a variety of people.
Review the volunteer opportunities listed below. If interested in volunteering in any of the areas listed, contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 732.987.2454.
The Alumni Engagement Committee of the Alumni Association focuses on supporting and strengthening chapters & clubs and fostering alumni connections with Georgian Court across the country. Alumni support committee members are very active in their local chapter activities.
Becoming a Class Agent is beneficial both to alumni and to GCU. Class Agents connect with former classmates to aid the Office of Alumni Engagement in keeping up-to-date contact information on fellow alumni and to help increase class participation at alumni events, especially Reunion.
Mercy Garden Volunteer
Georgian Court's “Mercy Garden” project will allow us to teach sustainable concepts and practices to the students who participate in creating and maintaining the garden and the community members who visit it. As well as engaging our own students in creating, tending and harvesting the garden, we will provide workshops and on-site tours for those interested in using our “Mercy Garden” as a model for creating similar projects themselves. For those unable to visit the site in person, we will provide the opportunity to interact closely with one of the gardens through an “adopt a bed” program, delivered through the internet. Through our website, Facebook page and email and phone, we will provide the support needed by anyone working to create their own community garden.
New Alumni Committee
The New Alumni Committee of the Alumni Association connects GCU alumni with fellow recent graduates, offers volunteer opportunities, helps new alumni make career connections, and hosts programs and events for social and professional networking.
Professional Development Committee
The Professional Development Committee of the Alumni Association works with Office of Career Development to provide access to career services and support throughout your lifetime. These may include continuing education credit workshops, seminars, and career management programs ranging in diverse professions and industries. The Professional Development Committee helps serve in diverse areas such as mental health, education, business, project management, nursing, and social work.
The Reunion Committee works with the Office of Alumni Engagement in planning and implementing the activities of Reunion Weekend. In addition, the Reunion Committee works with Class Agents to encourage attendance and donations for this annual event.
