GCU MAGAZINE GIVING

Giving is at the heart of the Georgian Court University Alumni Association. Whether we donate, fundraise or volunteer, our organization believes in paying it forward. We are driven to give back to the University that has given so much to us.

In July 2021, Georgian Court was saddened by the loss of our very own Sr. Diane Szubrowski, RSM. Sr. Diane was an educator, leader, friend and inspiration to all. In celebration of her life and in honor of her legacy, we are establishing the Sister Diane Szubrowski Memorial Scholarship here at Georgian Court University.

Marie M. “Terry” Mulcahy passed away in May 2021. She was a beloved wife, mother and lifelong supporter. Her life served as a testament to a generational commitment to selfless service and Georgian Court has certainly benefited from that commitment.

We honor Terry Mulcahy’s legacy through our Angel Fund. The Angel Fund deploys resources including food supplies for the Student Food Pantry, subsidizes costs for working laptops or cell phone chargers, and addresses other primary needs. These critical funds will hopefully help bridge the gap, providing a safety net for those in need.

For nearly two decades, Laura Liesman served as the assistant vice president for athletics. She was a force for change and growth. In the fall of 2021, she left Georgian Court University to pursue an opportunity at another university. We miss her here, but Laura’s contributions to Georgian Court are lasting.

Laura is known for her achievements throughout the CACC and NCAA Division II. In 2018, she was named chair of the D-II Management Council and previously served on the NCAA’s Board of Governors. She is also a two-time CACC Athletic Director of the Year (2011, 2018). Most recently, she was named among the 2020 Under Armour Athletic Directors of Year.

Consider making a donation to GCU Strong to further our student-athletes achieve success on and off the field.
