Dr. Marilyn E. Gonyo Ed.d.
Dr. Marilyn E. Gonyo has dedicated her life to making an impact on many through education. This journey began when Dr. Gonyo served as a faculty member for Georgian Court University’s School of Education for 20 years and her enthusiasm to give back continues today. During her time at Georgian Court, Dr. Gonyo always felt right at home. “What I love most about GCU, is the sense of family and the Mercy Core Values. The community is always there to help and support one another.” Through these values, Dr. Gonyo watched her students become caring, respected leaders in their chosen fields.
The Dr. Marilyn E. Gonyo Endowed Student Award for Professional Development
Inspired by the Mercy Core Values, Dr. Gonyo was determined to support students, even after her time in the classroom. In the Fall of 2019, Dr. Gonyo established the Dr. Marilyn E. Gonyo Endowed Student Award for Professional Development. By encouraging and fostering a strong rapport between faculty and students, this award gives both undergraduate and graduate students pursing a degree in Education the opportunity to experience and engage in a professional conference at the national level.
Since its establishment, the Dr. Marilyn E. Gonyo Endowed Student Award for Professional Development has awarded three undergraduate recipients and one graduate recipient.
